History of the child
Such children as Lesha Gusev are born one in a thousand. A one-year-old boy has craniosynostosis – the early fusion of two or more bones of the skull, that causes problems with brain growth and head shape. In the CIS countries only 3% of newborns are diagnosed with craniosynostosis. The causes can be different: violation of the hormonal background, genetic anomalies. But what really matters is that the boy will die without the right treatment.
“We don’t have time for fear or doubt. Each minute is the greatest gift in our case. We did our best to find the doctors that would be able to help Alexei. We believe that our little angel deserves the chance to live”, – says Tatiana, Alexei’s mother
Surgeons from Moscow made a copy of Lesha’s skull and performed a trial operation. The results were great and now there’s a light of hope shining in the hearts of all family members. On May 14 the surgery must be performed in the Morozov children’s clinical hospital. But it’s impossible for the parents to collect 10 400 USD on their own.
“Our life is a struggle. And while we are alive we will struggle for our son’s life”, – says Tatyana.
Let’s help Alexei!
