Diagnosis of the child

chronic bilateral hearing loss

In the past, sensorineural hearing loss was referred to as “nerve deafness”. We now know that in most cases the problem stems from the inner ear rather than from the hearing nerve. However, we continue to group the two problems together, because the inner ear and the hearing nerve are connected and need to work together.

It’s another reason why hearing loss should be treated promptly – the ‘downstream’ neural parts of the hearing system need input from the ‘upstream’ sensory parts in order to grow and stay healthy.

The purpose of the collection

audio processor NUCLEUS

History of the child

Nastya has a chronic bilateral hearing loss. At the age of 3,5 the girl was operated, and the miracle came true — Nastya began to hear the sounds surrounding her. But it was some problems in the rehabilitation:  difficulties for finding the necessary experts for correctional lessons which would help Nastya to achieve desirable results.

In spite of difficulties Anastasia’s mother found the necessary experts and  her daughter had correctional lessons in Minsk every week. Moreover, Nastya was engaged together with her mother in the learning process at home and the girl began to talk in a small period!!!  It is a victory for the girl, and for her mother.

“Our audio processor is out of whack. And it is beyond repair. Without hearing Nastya can lose very quickly all those skills which we have reached. My financial position doesn’t give a chance to buy the audio processor NUCLEUS, I bring up Nastya by myself, her father doesn’t take part in their daughter’s life … Please, help us …” — Anna, Nastya’s mother says.

Let’s help the girl to hear this world fully!
