An atrial septal defect is a birth defect of the heart in which there is a hole in the wall (septum) that divides the upper chambers (atria) of the heart. But there are days, even in life of the happiest families, when everything turns upside down, and you understand that nothing will remain the same. Precisely such a turning point for family Sidarau was the second day of life of their youngest kind, Avianir. The child was diagnosed with congenital heart disorder, atrial septal defect (6mm).

Atrial septal defect (ASD) is a heart defect in which blood flows between the atria (upper chambers) of the heart. A small atrial septal defect (less than 6 mm) may never cause any problems. Larger defects cause serious problems, including right-sided heart failure, heart rhythm abnormalities (arrhythmias), increased risk of a stroke, shortened life span.

However, the defect was never an obstacle for Avianir: the boy has developed normally and at the age of 1 year he took his first steps. It seemed that everything was slowly working out for the best.
