History of the child
Nine-year-old Maxim Shakhovsky has a serious diagnosis: cerebral palsy (cerebral spastic infantile paralysis).
It sounded as a sentence. But the family began a fight for their son. Maxim completed courses of rehabilitation, therapy, special treatment. All this brings temporary improvements.
This december the boy had a consultation at children’s orthopedic institute of G.I. Turner of the Russian Federation. Doctors can help Maxim. He needed an operation (flexor-lengthening of a crurae, two-pronged). Otherwise he will be able to stand on bended knee as now.
« We had a consultation at children’s orthopedic institute of G.I. Turner of the Russian Federation and doctors are ready to maintain an operation. However the cost of operation and subsequent rehabilitation are too high – 5 794 USD. For us it is very difficult to pay the treatment of our son», — Maxim’s mother shares.
